We are an independent insurance broker with 30 years of experience representing many competitive and top rated insurers offering;

  • Fixed deferred and immediate payout annuities, including those inside of tax qualified retirement plans
  • Life insurance; term, universal and whole life
  • Disability income replacement insurance
  • Long term care insurance
  • Health insurance with emphasis on Medicare Supplements and Medicare Advantage plans (HMO, Point of Service and PPO)

Several important considerations to keep in mind;

  • You will be working directly with Donald J. Simon, a licensed life and health and annuity broker as well as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF).  He keeps current with all required continuing education credits and carefully adheres to all ethics requirements. He is also a 30 year member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). With most other insurance agencies you will likely find yourself working with an assistant or a new agent or one with no professional designations and professional association membership.
  • Many agents are employees of an insurer and are thus beholden to them, not to you.  In contrast, an independent broker represents you, not the insurer.
  • Many agents quote rates without sufficient information about your needs or health history. Not only do we ask for information needed up front, but we also often discuss any health conditions, etc. with insurance company underwriters (without revealing your name for confidentiality reasons).  Many agents typically quote the lowest price the insurer offers, but then frequently come back with a policy that has a much higher premium than quoted.  Our quotes match the actual policy premiums offered over 90% of the time.
  • We carefully coach you about how to prepare for your free insurance exam in order to present the best picture to the insurer. One example is us telling our applicants not to eat certain foods for a few days before the exam that typically spike cholesterol readings.
  • We also suggest favorable ways to set up beneficiary designations; for example, naming minor children directly as beneficiaries may subject your beneficiaries to unnecessary court costs and attorneys fees.  For various reasons, it’s also important to determine the best way to set up ownership of the policy.
  • Over 97% of our clients renew their policies each year, indicating an extremely high rate of client satisfaction.
  • As your needs change due to changes in your personal situation we stand by ready to help you make any adjustments in coverage. It’s your responsibility to advise us of a change to a new job or a new business venture (or changes with one), marriage, divorce, birth of death of family members or other beneficiaries.
  • If you can’t afford to continue your life insurance policy and you are ill, we can offer you information about how much your policy may worth if you sell it to a life settlement company.
